Old Tram Rail in Park

View this post on Instagram

Just noticed this random piece of old tram rail in the park (has a groove the wheel flanges run in when on roads which rail track doesn't - don't look at Manchester's weird tram rail choice though :/ ) Looks half filled so probably covered over in the road when trams were replaced by trolley buses (between 1930 and 1950) and removed at some later point. Why put it in park half buried?
